Amelia & Christopher in the ladder

This is one of the "Super" parades of Mardi Gras. It is about 25 floats long and each float has about 100 riders. The floats are actually 2 floats connected like a train. It was a beautiful day but when the sun went down it was cold! Amelia got this very tacky Spongebob hat! She has her Daddy's fashion sense. The kids are sitting in ladders with seats on the top. Looks safe? Actually, it is better to have them confined in one spot than running around getting lost or worse run over by a float. I have become a big fan of the ladder.

WHO DAT!

Seriously, the NFL is trying to take our phrase away from us! There is no way you can argue that such improper usage of the English language started anywhere but THE BIG EASY! It's so silly but has our city in an uproar... The SAINTS are finally in the Superbowl and we can't yell WHO DAT?!?!?!?! SCREW DAT!!!!!

Amelia needs FEMA

The rain is relentless! For those of you who have been to my house, you know Amelia has a play house in our yard. It got about 3 inches of water in it on Saturday and it is well on it's way to more tonight. It has been pouring for about 3 hours onto an already soaked city. Please keep working multi billion dollar pumps!!!

House Party!!!

Amelia's friend Caroline had us over to decorate gingerbread houses. I think the mom's had more fun than the kids. We put the houses together while the kids played and ate. It took us longer than expected and several mom's were covered in royal icing! It was a mess, but Lisa took it in stride. We all pitched in and cleaned up, the floor was covered in snow (rice cereal) and candy. What a fun tradition!
